Oyo Govt Demolishes Ayefele’s radio station
Oyo state government has demolished veteran musician, Yinka Ayefele’s radio station, Fresh FM, in Ibadan.
The demolition exercise, started at the early hours of Sunday, Confluence Reporters, garthered.
It will be recalled that the location of the station has been a subject of controversy in recent times, with the management of the station and the Oyo State Government locked in a war of words. The government had on different occasions warned that it would take down the building.
Earlier, reports said Mr Ayefele has taken the matter to court, alleging political victimisation.
It was a different turn of event, when the demolition exercise began on Sunday morning. A staff of the radio station who relayed with our reporter on condition of anonymity confirmed the development.
According to him, “They have destroyed the building; they have ruined multi-million naira investment,” he said on telephone Sunday morning.
It is not immediately clear whether the Oyo State Government authorized the demolition Sunday morning.
Efforts to reach goverment officials and the management of Fresh FM were unsuccessful.
