Opinion: Kogi Central Senatorial Election: Barr. Natasha Hadiza Akpoti A Phenomenon
Kogi central senatorial elections goes with a historical mile stone since first Republic till date.It has been Men affairs all through with little or no significant achievements based on unqualitative representation, except for one or two of them e.g Senator Isa Obaro Abonyi(rtd) and Senator A T Ahmed(late) the rest are history.
Senate election is not just to fill a vacancy for the job seekers but a service base seat to bringing the zone to lime light in terms of development and favourable policy making capable of turning around the zone for good.
In recent time, our representation had been a wasted and regretable one for lack of no voice for the people. It is really a show of shame and mediocrity on our part for the Igala and Okun senators to be our spokes persons in a matter that concerns us(Ebira) more e.g resuscitation of Ajaokuta and Itakpe respectively.
In politics development is dynamic and innovative,if our men representatives can not gives us the desired results it is high time we try our female ones.
The coming of Barr. Natasha H.Apoti is indeed timely and divine as a GAME CHANGER. From her narrative and brought up she was never a sliver spoon fed person she grew through the bad and worse edge of life which made her to know where the shoes pinches.
Based on her background and believe in human development and societal growth she staked her neck for her people(Ebira) and the nation at large defied all odds and risks to emancipate the people. In the struggle she formed Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) catering for the aged ones and children in their multitudes with her hard earned resources and collaborations.
On the larger scale, she of recent created a scene on the floor of the National Assembly confronting the federal and state governments on the need to resuscitate Ajaokuta Steel Company and Itakpe Iron Ore Mining Company respectively through her brilliant presentation of well researched fact and figures with supporting documents.
The projects when completed and functioning will create employment for our teeming youth population and by extention trigger economic activities in the land.I ask if on her personal volitions she has done these, what happens if given mandate and authority through our vote?, heaven will be her limit.
Through her presentation and advocacy Ajaokuta and Itakpe are receiving the necessary attention for completion and starts-up.There is this saying in our local adage that if "a hunter does not have male dogs to hunt game he can use the female ones",for now Anebira have Natasha for Senate if only we are serious for qualitative representation and not care for penauts to sell our future.
Natasha is a learned Barrister, not a neophyte in advocacy and collaborative engagement for equity, justice and human development.
She has given her little lets support her through our votes for quality representation and service delivery, to whom much is given much is expected. She is ready to give us (Ebira) all in her if given mandate and power.
Long Live Nigeria !
Long Live Kogi State !!
Long Live Ebiraland/Natasha !!!
