Engr Okino Good evening, I am Engr Abdullahi Malik Okino, an indigene of Obeiba-Ihima, Okehi LGA,I am a candidate for Doctorate Degree in Business Administration/Management in California, United States of America. I got certified as a Chartered Manager/Consultant by Chartered Management Institute of United Kingdom, 2015 , I obtained Master of Business Administration in Oil&Gas Management in the United kingdom, I also obtained a Certificate in Pipeline Engineering from the United kingdom, above all, I have a Bachelor of Engineering in Chemical Engineering.
Since 2007, I became an Owner/ Manager of Corporate enterprises running businesses across the world. I am well traveled, in fact, I have visited all the Continents of the world.
Earlier,I experienced serious job hunt as a fresh graduate to no avail, suffered great pains of unemployment, experienced numbers of failures, frustration, disappointments, hope, courage and success, these exposures combined to craft a unique set of values toward life,people and management as a natural Philanthropist.
As a matter of introduction,I consider myself to be highly inspired and aspiring, I have been a shoulder to so many people of the land with diverse challenges, I understand what it takes to lead, manage, plan and organize to achieve an unparalleled success.
Besides the theoretical qualification, I have the requisite professional, managerial and leadership experience.
Politically, I am the son of the then UPN central senatorial candidate ( *Dr.Malik Okino-the pioneer of okehi for senate)* of 1979 electoral process.(2nd republic).
I have been around in practical politics since 2009 campaigning and indulging in community services, I ran for Okehi local government chairmanship in 2013 and also ran for the 2015 Adavi/Okehi Federal House of Rep. election. Despite offering myself to serve the people at different capacities, I’m equally aware that it’s only God almighty that makes kings and leaders,in Him, is my hope.
I have over 8yrs cognate field experience in Kogi and Nigeria politics , above all, I am practically qualified, informed, ready, prepared to serve my dear people that I so much cherish and love.
Today, I humbly present Myself before the good people of Okehi, Kogi Central,THE ANEBIRAS.
I am your Son, Brother and Friend who understands the challenges, plight and danger of misrepresentation and lack of ideology for proper management of people's affair.
Pls walk with me for greater And prosperous Central senatorial district of Kogi state .
But before we proceed take time and go through my vision for our dear people
My vision is "My people first" , this is the compass to guide me to the expected goals and it's a vision crafted with affective commitment by engineer Okino's campaign organization for 2019 senatorial ambition, a new beginning after years of patient and long suffering, it is a three word statement that represent a consortium of defensible ideas that when implemented can promote, improve, create sustainable welfare for the citizens.
The targets/focus are but not limited to consumer protection, labour protection,corporate social responsibility, Employment generation, environment, education, security, health and strict adherence to tenets of oversight functions.
The above mentioned points are my immediate programs of event when elected however It is ethical , moral and an international best practice to involve your people to get their buy-in and contributions in issues that concern them.
This is a new era when the governor of a state is accorded his due respect and afforded maximum collaboration and team work to take the community, state and the country at large to new and higher level in the Committee of nations.
Kogi as a state in our country has potential to be one of the richest state in Africa given the enormous resources, this can only happen when we have the candidate with right mind, experience, exposure, education, expert knowledge, skills set, network and competitive intelligence.
All of these qualities are what define Engineer Abdullahi Malik Okino and make him the right candidate with appropriate experience and required tools for the job.

There is a vacuum I want to fill, this vacuum requires an effective, productive, informed, experience, responsive, responsible, and value driven representation to attract the dividend of democracy so my background provided me with the advanced skills set to be a fit for the job role.
Moreso , my biological father set out these agenda for okehi for senate and it only make sense for us to actuality these agitation

Considering the numerous challenges in Nigeria and Kogi state in particular what can you do differently to cause a change in Kogi central? Give at least 3 practical examples

Brilliant question,
First it is an abnormally to have a state university in the east , federal university in the west and now another university in the west, this is as a result of bad representations, I wish therefore to agitate for equity and justice.
More Also Nigeria has spent over 5.7billion dollars over a period of 35year to construct Ajaokuta steel for a project of 1.3millon tonners annual capacity that should have cost only 450million dollars for 35months this is wrong and I need to challenge the status quo.
Second I am passionate about educational development and many more pls give me a chance to revolutionize the central senatorial district walk with me dear brothers.
In 2003, Nigeria adopted the child rights act to domesticate the convention on the rights of children, this is created to serve as a legal documentation and protection of children right and responsibilities in nigeria but not implemented
Second,the UBE acts of 2004 was created to mandate the compulsory free education of children through primary and secondary and it is suppose to be sponsored by state governments and the local government, the federal gov went as far as agreeing to contribute percent of her consolidated revenue fund to achieve yet the fed has always under fund the project hence it does not take place, the national educational budget is poor and yet it's under funded usually releasing less than 40 percent of the budget
When I become the senator I will agitate for educational budget increase and fight for full implementation/ disbursement of the budget and follow through implementation.
I will fight for implementation of E- government policy because in the policy there is a provision to create free broad band network and facilities in all Nigerian universities, This will allow student to have free internet access.
Again I will fight for national E-library to be created , this will afford our students to have access to educational facilities.
I will ask for Employment for educational students and fight also for education graduate student start up salary to improve to grade 10 level eight.
According to records over 300,000 teachers out of 700,000 teachers in nigeria are not qualify due to the activities of politician I will therefore seek for ways to professionalize them

Sir, in your view, where do you think kogi central has comparative advantage in terms of economic and societal development and how do you wish to use your influence and experience to enhance it if you are elected senator?

Thank you very much , We have comparative advantage in agriculture and mining.
Kogi central produce some level of cashew nuts and Kogi state at large, according to presentation by the minister of agriculture, the Walmart , a departmental store has agreed to buy 7billion naira worth of cashew nut from nigeria , therefore as Kogi is one the six cashew producing state in nigeria this should be one of our strategic direction, I have proposed long ago to the Kogi state government to set up a cashew processing plant in Kogi state under partnership with my company but we are still discussing.
In agriculture, due to our fertile land I will encourage my people through agricultural programs that will enable them to indulge in beans farming because the Indians has agreed to import 100billion dollars worth of beans from Nigeria so here is another opportunity for the central district.
In the area of mining , when I become the senate I will agitate for imposition of tax on import of tiles and ease the the duties on import of tile and pop manufacturing equipments. This will create activities in the tile and pop industries and create more of producer surpluses, this will in return create demand and job for the industry
Kogi central has the largest deposit of these deposit so enough Employment for our people.

Ajaokuta Iron and Steel Company is supposed to be the bedrock of Nigeria industrialization, what legislative input do you think you can use for it to see the light of the day?

The truth of the matter is we don't need 1.1billion dollars to revamp ajaokuta as said by the incumbent minister of mines and steel
What I will simply do is to adopt the report of Mr Hussaini Abdulrahman, the chairman of total steel as published in the daily trust of Saturday, February third 2013.

They are doing their best I suppose but their best is not our best so I will like to use my background, skills set, network, and ability to navigate bureaucratic channels to perform exceedingly well so that I can create economic freedom etc .
But to be honest with you most of our representative aren't very accessible.

2. What is your position on climate change and on what scientific information as an Engineer do you base your opinions about global warming and the link to pollution from our generators fumes and bush burning?

Frankly as a business man in oil and oil I will agree with Donald trump that climate change is hoax but that is selfish
But as an environmentalist like Hillary Clinton yes climate change is real so let's work to avoid the negative outcome
However academically argument for pro and against is 50/50
Again I will say the question is very relevant to Kogi state as mining state so we need more laws ,policies and legislation to protect our environment, people and business so when I become the senate I will look at the environmental laws in nigeria and repeal and replace non beneficial and anti progress.
What we need is exemplary leadership, we need to change our culture, let increase our citizenship behavior.

Our politicians are known for coming down to the people to canvass for votes and after that, they turn their backs on the people. Can you tell the mechanisms you have on ground to ensure feed back to your constituents if eventually you are given the opportunity or will you also turn your back on the people?

As I said earlier, I am going to fiercely fight for e-government act and speedy implementation of e-government policy, we can wait till 2020 as set by the incumbent minister of communication, big data is the future and data mining is the new tools businesses are leveraging, in this present day campaign especially my followers they have shown a deep interest in it , I shall corporate with some Chinese firm to produce cheap laptops for us in central as one of my constituency project to enable us have access to the future Employement
Again there a new business idea trending in the world today and it's called crowdsourcing and virtualized workforce, this is a big work opportunity for our people for instance if you have the ability to design adverts there are website you can log on and attempt to send it your designs into the competition if you win you gain financial reward more or less consultants are phasing out.

Lot of small arm and illegal weapon are much at hand of Ebira's youth, as a by senator, what will you do to reduce the menace?

According to UNDP records , there are about 600milliom new jobs but there are no appropriate skills set even those at work places do not posses the appropriate skills required
Now, I intend to form a partnership with local and international companies to collect the varieties of skills set required to function in work places, then select leaders in a particular areas e.g. Metal and wood work , send them to the factories in Europe to improve/learn pedagogy skills, after the training bring them back to nigeria then set up a world class vocational and training center, as it is in turkey and Europe, so these train coaches will impact the knowledge on them so that they can gain and apply the essential skills then graduate them trade certificates and we are ready to export skills worker
Again they can start buying products , break it down n reproduce in their own way and we don't need China products anymore
If we can do that in tailoring sector and our youths gained the appropriate pedagogical skills we can approach the likes of h and m, Zara to give us millions dollars sowing jobs and we will boost our economy .
Here is my plan on water,
I will purchase water drilling equipments, then ask the local government to set some staffs aside for water resources department, then train these people on water drilling and maintenance , then we own these equipments with work force therefore we can build as many boreholes as we want even in every home , and the maintenance will be collaborative effort
Second, either senator Ohiare or Ohize blessed memory started a beautiful work but abandoned, I will like to see it through and that's piping Osaro dam to okene with the help of pump stations and revamp the water works in okene , we can then do reticulation, this second approach is expensive but I learnt His Excellency Governor bello has awarded the contract kudos to him.

Sir due to the level of technology this days, computer have overcome everything, what is going to be your contribution?

As I said earlier, I am going to fiercely fight for e-government act and speedy implementation of e-government policy, we can wait till 2020 as set by the incumbent minister of communication, big data is the future and data mining is the new tools businesses are leveraging, in this present day campaign especially my followers they have shown a deep interest in it , I shall corporate with some Chinese firm to produce cheap laptops for us in central as one of my constituency project to enable us have access to the future Employement
Again there a new business idea trending in the world today and it's called crowdsourcing and virtualized workforce, this is a big work opportunity for our people for instance if you have the ability to design adverts there are website you can log on and attempt to send it your designs into the competition if you win you gain financial reward more or less consultants are phasing out.

My questions to travel aspirants, as some one that has travel well, what are you going to do to solve water problem in Ebiraland?
2..job for our youths, what are your plan on getting our youths off street aside usual norm of bike, okada and grinding machine for our women by political class.
Lot of small arm and illegal weapon are much at hand of Ebira's youth, as a by senator, what will you do to reduce the menace?

According to UNDP records , there are about 600milliom new jobs but there are no appropriate skills set even those at work places do not posses the appropriate skills required
Now, I intend to form a partnership with local and international companies to collect the varieties of skills set required to function in work places, then select leaders in a particular areas e.g. Metal and wood work , send them to the factories in Europe to improve/learn pedagogy skills, after the training bring them back to nigeria then set up a world class vocational and training center, as it is in turkey and Europe, so these train coaches will impact the knowledge on them so that they can gain and apply the essential skills then graduate them trade certificates and we are ready to export skills worker
Again they can start buying products , break it down n reproduce in their own way and we don't need China products anymore
If we can do that in tailoring sector and our youths gained the appropriate pedagogical skills we can approach the likes of h and m, Zara to give us millions dollars sowing jobs and we will boost our economy .
Here is my plan on water,
I will purchase water drilling equipments, then ask the local government to set some staffs aside for water resources department, then train these people on water drilling and maintenance , then we own these equipments with work force therefore we can build as many boreholes as we want even in every home , and the maintenance will be collaborative effort
Second, either senator Ohiare or Ohize blessed memory started a beautiful work but abandoned, I will like to see it through and that's piping Osaro dam to okene with the help of pump stations and revamp the water works in okene , we can then do reticulation, this second approach is expensive but I learnt His Excellency Governor bello has awarded the contract kudos to him.

The problem is we practice zero sum game and that is bad we need to be more altruistic, empathetic and sportsmanship
