Exercise Cat race yields result positive as troops recover weapons from herdsmen
The ongoing military exercise in Benue and Taraba States to lay the herdsmen and farmer clashes to rest has yielded positive results as the military recovered different locally made weapons from the herdsmen.
The exercise tagged Ayam Akptuma (Cat Race), continued to record progress amidst trailing doubts.
Some of the recovered weapons at Kwesati and Tati villages.
The recovery was made during a conduct of cordon and search operations at Kwesati and Tati villages across Ussa and Takum local government areas of the state.
“During the process of the condon and search,the alerted troops recovered 5 weapons and have been back loaded.
“Troops continue to make progress as the exercise proceeds at pace,” a statement by the director, army public relations, Brigadier General Texas Chukwu said.
Similarly, some guns, spears and arrows were recovered during the Exercise Cat Race in Adamawa state.
The army also warned residents to be wary of herdsmen who might want to seek refuge in their places, stressing that they may be fleeing from troops.
