Fresh Facts About 55-year-old Patient Who Died of Covid-19 In Lagos Hospital

Fresh facts have emerged about the sudden death of 55 years old man admitted in Lagos State University Teaching Hospital, LUTH, Idi-Araba on Thursday has been unveiled.



According to a source in the hospital, the patient was presented to the emergency unity of the hospital on Thursday with malaise, tremors and fever and was later diagnosed with acute chronic kidney and sepsis.

According to the source, the patient who had earlier denied any travel history, was tested positive for Covid-19 when he developed complication and fingerprint antibody test was done on him.

The source added that his case was getting worse before he admitted that he had travelled to Halland for follow-up treatment of a renal transplant he did there and returned to Nigeria two weeks ago.

The source added that the patient also confessed that he had been coughing at home before approaching the hospital.

The source disclosed that because of the complication of his case and his failure to disclose his status early, he died few hours he was moved to the Federal Government-owned facility.

Howver, his family members who had earlier refused to disclose the status of the man have confessed that they only withheld the information because they were afraid that the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital would reject him if they disclosed his true status.

This case has, however, shown the low level of knowledge of Covid-19 and how danger of the disease.

The public should know that there is no point hiding Covid-19 status that is capable to terminating one's life.
