FG Comes Hard, Jailed 13 Herdsmen For Illegal Possession of Firearms

The Federal government on Friday, jailed thirteen herdsmen for illegal possession of firearms.



the judgment which was delivered by Ekiti magistrate Court, sent the 13 Defendant to be remanded in jail for alleged possession of firearms to kidnap.

According to the Prosecutor, Inspector Johnson Okunade disclosed to the court that the 13 Defendants committed the offence on February 20 in Emure, Ekiti state.

the Prosecutor who alleged that the Defendants were arrested with guns, charms and other dangerous weapons, alleged further that the Defendants conspired to kidnap people in the community, adding that the Defendants confessed to police that they came from Kano state.

In his ruling, the the Chief Magistrate, Adesoji Adegboye, ruled that the Defendant be remanded in prison custody until February 25 for further hearing of the case.
