Kogi Central Groan as INEC Announces Rigged Election Result

The people of Kogi Central senatorial have continued to express their dissatisfaction over the decision of INEC to declare the candidate of APC, Alh Yakubu Oseni the winner of Saturday's senatorial election despite evidences of rigging and violence that characterised the poll.


Speaking on the decision of the INEC, a voter in Okene, Abdulrahman Sadiq disclosed that the electoral umpire has failed the people by collaborating with Kogi APC to shortchange the will of the people.

"I don't know how INEC will go ahead to declare Oseni as the winner of the election when there are clear evidences of manipulation of figures, the use of uncollected Pvcs for voting and violence in destruction of ballot papers in many of the polling units warn by the candidate of SDP, Natasha Akpoti", he said.

On his own side, the acting Chairman of Kogi SDP, Alh Mouktar Atimah said, "in many of the local government, the total number of voters are far more than the number of registered voters, our agents raised the observation, many of those things were ignored because the electoral umpire has already comprised.

He pointed out that, Many of the polling booths in Ogori Magongo local government were destroyed, and card readers snatched for rigging by APC thugs when they discovered that they were losen, he added that know votes were recorded from such areas, lamenting that INEC ignore all these and still go ahead to announcer the winner.

Speaking on Adavi local government, he said the election was manipulated, explaining that ballot boxes and card readers were snatched and thumbprinted elsewhere.

He described the results of the election as unacceptable to the people, and a collaboration to shortchange the will of the people, adding that the people's mandates will be reclaimed in tribunal.

One of the voters in Ajaokuta who spoke on condition of anonymity said, APC thugs snatched ballot boxes and cardreaders  in many of the villages where they used the uncollected Pvcs in their possessions to vote.
