The Organizers of Ebira Carnival Have Lost Their Bearing - Ogo'ogu Mark

The decision of the organizers of Ebira carnival to turn it to APC campaign rally has been described as a lost of bearing by the organizers of the most celebrated event in Ebiraland that unites every Ebira person.

Airing his displeasure about how Ebira people were hoodwinked into attending APC rally in the name of Ebira carnival, a social critic, Ogo'ogu Mark said in an attempt to force the anointed candidate of the governor on the people of Kogi Central senatorial district, the ruling All Progressives Congress highjacked the supposed event that portrays Ebira culture and unites every sons and daughters of Ebiraland.

He said, "using every means to force your candidate on the people will not work. The Organizers have lost their bearing and it will be difficult to trust them again", he said.

He pointed out that the venues of the carnival picnic were flooded with posters and banners of the senatorial candidate of APC, the anointed candidate of the state governor.

He added that open campaign was carried out for the anointed candidate, adding that the supposed Ebira carnival was turned to APC rally and defeated the aims and objectives of the programme.

Responding to question that the organizers of the programme were not aware of the plan of the APC senatorial candidate, Alh. Yakubu Oseni who was said to be one of the 2018 sponsors of the programme, Ogo'ogu said the organizers were not unaware of the plan to use the opportunity of the crowd to force the anointed candidate on the people of Kogi Central, saying the organizers traded the integrity of the much celebrated event for money.

  1. Forcing candidate on people whose name is good character is an aberration and good works should work for them. Force is a sign of bad governance
