Natasha Soccer Talent Hunt: Webster Group Redeems Pledge of N1.5M to Players

Webster Group has redeemed her pledge to the players that participated in the soccer talent hunt organised by Natasha Akpoti foundation.


The  Group partnered with Natasha Akpoti foundation to organise the first soccer talent hunt in Okehi LGA, Kogi State, graced by Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) President, Amaju pinnick and his team.

Presenting the money to the players in his office recently, the Kogi State Football Association Secretary, Mr. Augustine Ogumola said, the efforts of Natasha Akpoti to bring NFF president and his team to Kogi State and the subsequent fulfilment of one point five million naira pledged by Webster Group to support the players will boast their morale, adding that it is a show of a new dawn in Kogi State. Ogumola, however advised the players to be hardworking as they pursue their football career.

Speaking, the founder Natasha Akpoti Foundation,  said it has always been her desire to give back to the society, the reason she said she did everything possible to bring NFF president and his team to Kogi State to unveil the untapped potentials of the young players to the world.

She disclosed that, one of the players has been picked by NFF to join the under 17 team while two other players will join the under 15 respectively.

According to her, the token given to the players is not equal to their efforts, adding that it is just to encourage them to do more.

Advising the successful players, Akpoti said they should not be self centered, stressed they need to give back to the society as they climb the ladder of success.

Also speaking, the coach of the team, Muhammed Abdulkadir said, Natasha Akpoti has done something that others did not consider necessary.

He said, "Natasha Akpoti came to the grassroot level to unveiling the potentials of the players not just from Kogi Central but the whole Kogi State.

"She has behaved like the  Senator of Kogi State in general by bringing different players from the three senatorial districts of the state and gave them a platform to show themselves, it is a wonderful feet.

"She is the first person to ever bring NFF president to Kogi State, for her to think something like that is what marvels me, for me it is the greatest empowerment", he said.

Commending Webster group for redeeming her pledge, Abdulkadir said, people always promise without fulfilment, he said the group pledged and redeemed her pledge, praying to God for Natasha to achieve her mandate to have more of the programme.

Speaking on behalf of the players, Martins Emejele said, for making them to achieve their dreams, Natasha Akpoti has written her name on the same sand of time for posterity to reckon with.

He said, "your mark on us will continue to show as we go higher, we will never forget what you have done for us.

"As a human being, we are bound to face challenges and I know you are facing one, a life without challenges is not worth living, challgnes build us and strengthen us, you will surely overcome every challenges on your way.

"We are happy for what you have done for us, we will make you proud and reciprocate the kind gesture by giving back to the society as we go higher", he said.
