Natasha Decries Lack of Govt Will to Patronize Locally made Shoes for Army, Navy, NYSC, Others

The founder of Builders Hub Impact Investment Program (BHIIP), Barrister Natasha Hadiza Akpoti has decried lack of government will to initiate patronage for locally made shoes for Nigerian army, navy, NYSC and others despite affirming its quality.



Natasha disclosed this on Sunday through her social media handle, saying she spent three years for research and development and one year for marketing the shoes to the Presidency, DG DSS, DG NYSC, Navy among others who are pleased with the concept and quality of the shoes only to show no will to patronise the locally made shoes and create opportunities for teeming youths.

She revealed that the shoes which are made with Ebira handwoven fabrics using cotton grown in Katsina and manufactured in Aba, Abia state is capable of creating two thousand directs jobs and generates billions of revenue in host local communities if given the nod by the government of the day.

In her own words, "these beautiful shoes aren’t made in Italy or China but in Nigeria by Ebira (Kogi)handwoven fabrics made with Katsina grown cotton and manufactured in Aba (Abia).





"3 years of R & D, 1 year of marketing to the Presidency, DG DSS, DG NYSC, Navy etc. All pleased with the concept & quality but have no will to initiate patronage irrespective of local content laws. They prefer imports.

"Facts: 2000 immediate jobs will be created; Billions of revenue will be generated in poor communities. Fosters regional collaboration especially Northern and Eastern #Nigeria.
