The historic nail-cutting ceremony took place at Ripley’s Museum in Times Square

It was yet another historic moment recorded recently in New York as Shridhar Chillal cut off his nails which he had grown for 66 years.

Shridhar Chillal who has been growing the nails on his left hand since he was 14, revealed that he was inspired to do so after a teacher told him off when he accidentally broke a very long nail the teacher had grown.

The teacher told Shridhar that he wouldn’t understand the kind of care it took not to break a long nail unless he did it himself. Shridhar clearly took that to heart. His nails had a combined length of 29ft 10.1in, which is about the same length as a London bus.

It was earlier reported how Shridhar revealed in 2016, his plans to cut off the nails which has earned him a spot in the World Guinness Book of Records as the man with the longest fingernails on a single hand.
