Gov Bello donates 32 seater buses to all Kogi State-owned tertiary institutions

Kogi State Governor, Àlhaji Yahaya Bello, has donated seven 32-seater buses to all the state owned tertiary institutions to ease their transportation problems.
The Governor made the donation at the new Lokoja Bus Terminal on Tuesday.




In a speech delivered at the occasion, Bello who was represented by the state commissioner for transportation, Hon Mohammed Lawal Imam said the present administration is passionate about the welfare of staff and students of its higher institutions, hence the donation.
 
Gov Bello said the reason education top the priority areas of his new direction blueprint was because it is a lasting legacy that is capable of transforming the society and launch the state into its prosperity.

He said the present administration also takes seriously welfare of people tasked with the responsibility of ensuring that citizens of the state get the best of knowledge that would make them compete favorably with their contemporary around the world.

While calling for the unalloyed support of stakeholders in the education sector in the state, the Governor called on student union leaders, management and staff of the state's higher institutions to justify the support his government has continued to extend to them.

He called on benefitting institutions to make judicious use of the Buses, saying that it was not  meant to become individual luxury to the institutions, but as a means towards improving educational sector in Kogi State.
