Meet the Poor, hardworking Orphan- Haruna Bashir

There are still few people who has chosen to make a difference despite their poor background. Instead of begging, they are constantly thinking of a possible way to make an ends meet. Sadik AbdulRahman Amoto belongs to this category of people.

The 21-year-old orphan is an ND II student of Building Technology department in Federal Polytechnic Idah, Kogi State.

He is the first born of his late parents, Mall. Sadik (Nepa) and Mrs Sadiq (Osi-Nepa) along his other four siblings. They lost both their parents five years ago with an interval of a year in between their death.

AbdulRahman has been a hardworking boy as he chose to engage in almost all endeavors of life that has nothing to do with criminality or social vices such that he partake in bricklaying, Driving and a labourer of any work just to earn him money to supply his needs and that of his siblings who are all in schools before their parent's demise.

Despite engaging himself in all the aforementioned endeavors, he didn't get discourage with his studies which is quite unique as a young orphan like him. This could be evidence from his various performances from his secondary school to the polytechnic. He passed his Waec with 1A, 4Bs and 3Cs without any deficiency and has also shown his academic prowess in the polytechnic as his first year CGPA stood at 3.33 (Upper Credit in Polytechnic).

He managed to pay for his registration and accommodation for the first year which amounted to fifty eight thousand naira (#58,000) together from the assistance he got from his uncle and his sisters coupled with his personal earning.

He take the responsibility of catering for his other four siblings despite being in school, he still engaged in bricklaying work around the school campus and loading/offloading truck of rice between Idah and Ibaji town just to make sure he eat and send something to his siblings.

This young boy has suffered enough than his age could bear but he has kept his fate with God and determined to succeed.

Why I deem it fit to write this article is because he could neither sustain himself anymore nor pay his tuition fee for the second year. His helpers  claimed they are tired and could not assist any longer.

Please let's help this poor orphan to become at least an ND graduate by supporting him financially.

He is currently writing his project and his final exam will be coming up by November 10th and may not be allow to sit for the exam if he didn't pay his tuition fee of #32,000.
