Breaking: Kogi Varsity Lecturers Continue Strike

Despite the hopes that academic activities will kick-start in the Kogi State University, lecturers of the school have resolved to continue the over five months old industrial action.

The Academic Staff Union of University (ASUU-KSU) met today and took the decision, demanding the payment of April to June Salaries as benchmark conditions before putting the strike to an end.

This decision came as a disappointment to many, especially the students who expected respite following the visit of the state Governor, Alh Yahaya Bello to the institution on Tuesday.

Ebira Reporters gave the highlights of the visit to include the Governor's appeal to the striking lecturers to resume work, promising to meet their demands.

The interaction between the government and the union was reported to have necessitated the crucial congress held by the union, with the emerging resolve.

The meeting was chaired by the North central coordinator of ASUU from the University of Agriculture, Markudi.
