Kogi CP Assures Adequate Security Measures, Reiterates Ban On The Use Of Knockouts

The Commissioner of Police, Kogi State Police Command, CP Ede Ayuba Ekpeji has assured members of the public of the adequate security measures put in place to ensure crime free during Christmas and New celebrations in the State.

He made the statement today Monday 21st December, 2020 while briefing the senior Officers of the Command at the Police State Headquarters, Lokoja.

He directed the Area Commanders, Divisional Police Officers as well as Operational Commanders to review their crime fighting strategies and increase visibility of Policemen to ensure peaceful Yuletide in Kogi State.

The Commissioner hereby reiterates the Ban on the use of fireworks during the festive period. He thereby advised parents and guardians to warn their Children and wards to stay away from knockouts as Policemen across the State were directed to arrest anyone who violates this order.

The Commissioner of Police further assures members of the public that the Police in synergy with other security agencies in the State are putting more efforts to ensure a peaceful festive period, while calling on all law abiding citizens for their cooperation to curtail any act of criminality in the State.
