Development does not happen by circumstance, like the Greek historian, Peter Watson holds, "development of a nation is a product of sacrifices made by the people."

Irrespective of our trajection and whatever we might have achieved in life, we do not have a place to call home other than Nigeria, just like the ancient historian, Thucydides said, "The man who took no interest in the affairs of state was not a man who minded his own business, but a man who had no business being in Athens at all.”

For the fact that we are Nigerians, we can't mind our business by keeping quiet on things that matters, Nigeria is ours to salvage and we must keep doing our quota at our on level.

We will witness developmental competition the day we realize development of our country is not only the business of those entrusted with the affairs of governance.

One of the surest path of developing a country is for the citizens to be aware of their individual responsibilities, and the zeal to render minutest lift to a fellow citizen who are in dire need of help.

When we realize this as a people and we begin to offer our minutest quota to the development of our communities, it will resonate into Nigeria's development when every community that make up the country is developed.

The present situation we found ourselves in Nigeria is not unconnected to the fact that we've all failed as citizens in our individual responsibilities towards a greater Nigeria.

As an individual, why should I wait until I occupy political office before I contribute to the development of my community and offer help in my own capacity, why should the representatives of the people deprive the people he is representing their rights? Why should the government feed large at the expense of the masses?

These are mind troubling questions we need to ask, and get right. Every Nigerian wants a better country with better condition of living, let's start changing the narrative within our closest, let's start changing our mindset towards governance, Let's start building the confidence in the minds of the people that leadership is sacrifice, governance is about representing the people and protecting their common interest.
