Police Reforms, A Panacea To End Police Brutality - Engr Wahab Jimoh
As Nigerian youth continued with the protest to call for an end to SARS brutality in the country, Engr. Wahab Jimoh has lend his voice on the state of the nation.
Engr Wahab Jimoh who hails from Kogi Central Senatorial District made his position known in a media chat with Confluence Reporters, saying Police reforms is the panacea to end all forms of police brutality in the country.
According to him, disbandment of SARS without police reforms will only create another SARS with another name.
He noted that, "Police reforms is the way out of Police brutality that resorted to the ongoing protest across the country. There are ways of carrying out lawful searches and arrest, gestapo style and all forms brutality must not be the way, if Nigerians are being victimized elsewhere, we cannot be killed by our own security officials here at home.
"The ongoing protests by our youth have shown that the power of the people is more than the people in power. I hope we will get it right as a country and reform our Police force to serve the Nigerian masses better and live to the expectation of its motto, "Police is your friend", he said.
