Ihima Students' Union Commences Second Phase Of Skills Acquisition Programme

The Ihima students' union (I S U) under the leadership of Comr Yusuf Muyibat Avosuahi has commenced the second phase of her skills acquisition programme.


The students' body in a bid to empower its members, in order for them to be financially stable, started the second phase of her skills acquisition programme after completing the first phase some weeks ago.

The second phase which is targeted at registering the beneficiaries to their desired profession commenced yesterday, 19/09/2020

The 2020 adminstration who already showed their commitment and readiness in raising students that will be financially independent started the programme with Barbing and Catering profession.

The leadership of the union met with barbers association and registered 7 youths, who are going to learn, in order to become professional barbers with all the funds fully paid for by the union.

The registration fees, graduation fees and all other fees needed were fully paid for, by the union, and a signed  memorandum of understanding between the two bodies

It is worthy to note that the barbers association who is also ready to contribute to the betterment of their fatherland was pleased with the steps taken by the students' union.

As a result of this, the association of barbers lessened the cost of registration and in their selflessness agreed to the union's quest to have a joint freedom for all the beneficiaries when the time comes.The union thereafter commended the efforts of the executive of Ihima Students' Union.


In the same spirit, the union enrolled three people in 'Prince and princess bakers, decoration and catering service limited.' a company owned by Ihima industrious woman and who in her love for her fatherland also lessened the cost of the enrolment. The union took care of both the starting and freedom fee of the beneficiaries.

The leadership of the students' body congratulated the beneficiaries and assured the general public that enrollment into other artisan professions will be coming up very soon.

The leadership of the students' union also thanked everyone who made the laudable project a reality. "We pray God continue to be with them and grant them their desires."

A publication on covid 19. Safety measure, public awareness. Aired by three different radio stations.

Organizing online educational programmes/skills

NAES and ISU harmonization meeting in Ihima

Working on building Ihima library, which is now on Ihima Elites Initiative's agenda

Skills acquisition programme on poultry management.
