Unity is Power: Ebira Let's Unite | Muhammed Itopa Siyaka
The divided they say cannot withstand foreign forces from invading their home. God chose this moment for my people, the greatest moment of my time, when our brother, our son from Kogi Central is placed at the peak of affairs in Kogi State. Just that he came in at a time when things cannot flow the way we all expected.
Yes we can say Kogi State is not moving forward. This is because we have placed much expectations on this young man. It is my outmost joy that my brother is there. The incessant insults I receive from our Kogi East brothers have ended. No one is more superior to the other.
WHERE DID HE GET IT WRONG?
Truth be told, GYB had good will for Kogi Civil Service, but he got it all wrong in the unprepared screening of civil servants that the administration embarked on in a bid to flush out the ghost workers and those unqualified workers from the civil service, as a result of which many genuine workers were made to suffer lack of payment of salaries and some losing their jobs while perceived ghost workers were able to bribe their way into the cleared list. This made a lot of civil servants loose trust in the reliability and credibility of His Government. Hunger is no one's friend.
Initially we tried to sell our ideas to the government on how things could be done for better but those at the corridors of power never allowed us the opportunity for fear of what I don't know. The said screening of Kogi civil servants should have taken a maximum three to five months to get it very right within which salaries would have still being paid till the screening officers are done and the guilty ones be made to face the wrath of the law. Some would have been jailed by now after collecting some money back from them so as to deter those that may want to travel same path in the future.
At the beginning we thought they have competent and uncompromising people for the job until we started noticing that the exercise was being politicized, leaving the civil servants to wallow in hunger that people like me started voicing out. This we did in order that things are done the right way to the glory of our brother GYB and such shouldn't made me a perceived enemy of the government we all fought for because all we wanted was for the NEW DIRECTION government to succeed.
Another pressurizing issue is the fact that a vast majority of our political leaders in Kogi Central are not in good terms with themselves, some of them even bare grudges against H.E Alh. Yahaya Bello. It shouldn’t be like this.
Just as I did voice out in time past, calling for reconciliation of Gov. Yahaya Bello and Bar. Natasha Apoti for possible realization of her quest for revitalization of Ajaokuta Steel Complex and development of our dear land, The EBIRA NATION. In the same vein, the like of Rt. Hon. Abdullahi Bello, Hon. Haddi Ametuo, Hon. Tom Ohikere, Hon. Muhammad Ohiare, Hon. Gamji and others has to team up with GYB for the sake of our land.
How many are we that we that we think being divided will do us any good?
United we stand my people and divided we will continue in failure.
Looking back in history, this disunity has cost us many opportunities till God decided to bless us with this golden one.
MY PLEA
I plead with all our political leaders to throw away pride, and selfishness, embrace the love of one another even in political differences, work as a team to make this government succeed. Give good advice to the young and energetic governor. Charge him to work harder. Criticize him if need be but constructively and in the end pat his back so he may feel accepted. Remember no single tree can make a forest.
Yahaya must not fail and we don't need one timer again. We have to break that jinx from Kwara State. Let’s not allow for history to repeat itself in Kogi State as it did in Kwara State to His Excellency Late Adamu Atta when his own brother was used to wrestle power from him.
I support 4 + 4 = 8 with development and constant payment salary. Pay our Civil Servants their salaries in full and not slashed.
Let others borrow leaf from the manner in which Engr. Ohere (the people's Engineer) is giving all his best in making sure that the good will of GYB comes to lime light. Only then will we achieve greater developmental success both in infrastructure and human development.
I also want to remind the governor that as a father, when you beat your child with one hand, you draw the child back with the other hand. By this sir, it all bouce back to you. Call all others to yourself and reconcile with them.
Our Royal fathers and other political appointees should call all party together and reconcile them for the good of our land. Let the governor realize that he is the political father of Kogi State and Ebira Land.
Don’t be biased in your reconciliation because GYB is in power, because keep removing smoking fire woods from your cooking, your food will take longer to get cooked.
A word they say is enough for the wise.
May God bless our governor, Royal fathers, our leaders and Ebira as a whole Amen.
Unity is power!!!
