Anxiety In Kogi APC's Camp As Supreme Court Affirms Use Of Forensic Analysis

There is palpable fear within the camp of Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State as Supreme Court affirmed the use of forensic analysis for the ongoing Kogi State Election Petition Tribunal.

The Supreme Court affirmed the earlier ruling Appeal Court which allowed Tribunal to use forensic analysis in its judgment.

The judgment which was delivered on the case of INEC vs Musa Wada marked: SC.205/2020 was determined by 5-man panel led by Justice of the Supreme Court headed by Hon. Justice Sylvester Nguta JSC, on Tuesday.

The apex court dismissed the appeal of INEC and affirmed the decision of the Court of Appeal on the of forensic examinations of INEC documents.

The implication of this is that alleged electoral frauds claimed by the PDP candidate, Musa Wada, in the seven local government of the state will now be subjected to forensic analysis to determine the claims of the PDP candidate.

Wada in his petition claimed that there were massive electoral fraud in the November 16, governorship election in Kogi State which gave Governor Yahaya Bello of APC a margin of 216,518 votes.

With the judgment of the Supreme Court today, the Kogi Governorship Election Petition Tribunal, will go ahead and use forensic analysis to verify the results claimed by Yahaya Bello.
If the forensic analysis affects the votes of Yahaya Bello where Musa Wada alleged there were massive irregularities on the day of election, then Kogi State Election Petition Tribunal may cancel the votes in the seven local government which may not be good for Yahaya Bello.

While anxiety grips the camp of Governor Yahaya Bello of APC, the camp of Musa Wada of PDP is ready celebrating the first victory in their zeal to reclaim what they termed as 'stolen mandate'.
