Political Mischief: Men in Military Uniforms Attack OKehi SDP Chairman's Residence, Try to plant Weapons

The ongoing political friction in Kogi Central may not end any time soon as men in military uniforms suspected to be acting the script of Kogi APC attacked OKehi LGA SDP chairman's residence, Hon. Segun James and tried to plant weapons in his house.

A source who wished to be anonymous disclosed that the men in military uniforms stormed the residence of Mr. Segun in Obeiba Ihima at about 4:00am and tried to plant some weapons in the house before his wife shouted and cried that they didn't own any weapons and the weapons should not be dropped in their house.

The source added that the wife and a younger brother of the Okehi SDP chairman were taken away by the men to the military checkpoint opposite Governor Yahaya Bello's house in GRA Okene.

According to the source, the wife of the Okehi SDP chairman has been released this morning but the brother is still in the custody of the military men at their checkpoint opposite Governor Yahaya Bello's house, GRA Okene.

Explaining the gestapo style adopted by Kogi APC, the source said the raid and the desperate move to plant weapons in the house of Natasha Akpoti's supporters cannot be unconnected to the plan to indict the Kogi Central SDP senatorial candidate for gun running and arrest her before the election.

The source further disclosed that politics ought to be played without bitterness but desperate politicians have made it a do or die affair in Kogi Central thereby reestablishing thuggery in Ebiraland and using all avenue to fight the opposition candidate.

"I advice the ruling party to let the will of the masses be done and campaign on issue based for the sake of peace and innocent people who have been killed and maimed since the return of this political violence in Ebiraland.

"Election is not war, if they continue to kill and maim ourselves for the sake of political position, who are they going to govern? I once again call on the Ohinoyi of Ebiraland, other traditional rulers in the land, the Ebira People's Association, and other stakeholders to wake up to their responsibilities and call a spade a spade for the sake of peace in our land.

"Things cannot go on like this while they continue to keep quiet, we can't afford to lose another soul for the sake of scoring cheap political point, enough is enough, our people decide to choose whoever they want to represent them and they deserve to live in peace as well ", the source said.
