Unveiling the wonder Kids of my time | Comr Isah Amoto Bala

Students' unionism is fun especially when you do it solely for societal development and to promote the standard of education.

At the end of the keenly contested Spelling Bee organized by Ihima Students' Union (ISU), two exceptional boys stand out which I must commend their boldness and brilliancy.

First is the one that represented Baptist Primary School Oboroke which I would prefer to call miraculous boy.  At his age, his courage and outstanding performance still make many to imagine the extent of his exposure.

As a pupil that joined other two representatives to represent his school, (Public primary school ) one wouldn't have expected much from them considering the condition of public schools in the state.  But this miraculous boy single handedly led his school to cling the runner up in the keenly contested spelling bee.

The second boy is the I would prefer to call the golden boy.  He represented Victory Nursery and Primary School along side other two contestants and led his school to emerge the first price winner of the competition.

THE INTRIGUING ASPECT OF THE COMPETITION

After dropping other schools at the second round of the competition where Wisdom Nur./Pri. became the third prize winner. The two boys representing their various schools faced each other for almost fifteen minutes, spelling strange and unfamiliar words with ease to the admiration of the attentive audience.

The contest continued and the miraculous boy representing Baptist Primary School Oboroke missed the spelling of the word 'PHOTOSYNTHESIS' by mistaking the letter  'Y' for 'I' which paved way for the golden boy representing Victory Nursery and Primary School Ikuehi to lead his school to cling the first position.

These boys need to be given national recognition and participate in any national spelling bee.

The boys have made me proud as the national president of Ihima Students' Union.  I will have a story to tell to my unborn kids.

Comrade Isah Amoto Bala, President
