Kogi Appoints New Speaker
Sequel to the resignation of the former speaker of Kogi State House of Assembly, Rt. Umar Imam, Hon. Mathew Kolawole representing Kabba-Bunu emerged the new speaker of the House, on Thursday.
It will be recalled that Umar Imam quit as speaker of the House earlier on Thursday morning and his letter of resignation was read on the floor of the House by the Deputy Speaker, Hassan Abdullahi.
The House had earlier adjourned sitting indefinitely following the fracas that ensued at the assembly complex on Tuesday only to resume today to install the new speaker by what confluence reporters gathered to be 'order from above.'
