Meet Prof. Nuhu Omeiza Yaqub, Ex-VC of Uni Abuja As He Retires From Service
There are many Nigerians who have carved a niche for themselves as figures to reckon with in their chosen fields of life.
One of such Nigerians is Professor Nuhu Omeiza Yaqub who has made his mark in the Nigeria education sector as an astute Professor.
The respected Professor, Nuhu Omeiza Yaqub, is an Ebira man from Okene in Kogi Central Senatorial district.
He was born Nuhu Omeiza Yaqub on March 3, 1951 in Okene Kogi State. He started his academic journey at the defunct Nural Islamic School, Okene, between 1959 to 1965. He then proceeded to School for Arabic Studies in Kano between 1967 to 1971.
The respected Professor proceeded to Advanced Teachers College, Kano between 1973 to 1976. In his quest to further his education, he proceeded to Bayero University, Kano between 1977 to 1980 and University of Toronto, Toronto, Canada between 1982 to 1983.
He then proceeded to University of Sussex, Brighton, East Sussex in United Kingdom between 1984 to 1989.
He started his career in the teaching profession as graduate assistance in 1981 and went on to become lecturer assistance in University of Oslo in Norway in 1990.
The Ebira born academician went on to become professor of Political Science and emerged the Vice Chancellor of University of Abuja 2004.
Professor Nuhu Omeiza Yaqub had also served as pioneer Vice Chancellor Sokoto State University amongst other several positions he had held while in service.
The respected professor who hails from Okene, Kogi State has now retired from service. As he retires from service, the Ebira born professor has indeed made his mark in the teaching profession.
