KOGI 2019: Natasha Calls For Patriotism Over Tribalism
The founder Builders Hub Impact Investment Program, and SDP Senatorial candidate in the last General election Barr. Natasha Akpoti, on Sunday called on the people of Kogi State to shun politics of tribalism and embrace good governance.
Akpoti made this known in her recent article she posted on her social media handle, reiterating that tribalism over competence always spells doom for any society.
She lamented that it's unfortunate Kogi State is still treading the path of ethnicity, entitlement and compensation over competence and good governance.
Read her full message:
It breaks my heart to see Kogi’s November Guber tow the ethnic entitlement & compensation path.
What happened to choosing competent leaders with astronomical vision?
Let’s start by asking each aspirant what economic strategies they’ve got for our 32 out of Nigeria’s 54 mineral resources distributed graciously across our richly endowed state?
Agreed Ajaokuta Steel and Itakpe Iron Ore complexes are Federal vested but a smart governor would intelligently focus on repositioning Kogi State as the Industrial hub for Nigeria and West Africa.
Kogi has no business relying on allocations for survival. We should aim to thrive and contribute revenue generated to Federal coffers and even support other states.
That being said, Nigeria is in dire need of vibrant leadership and it’s good Kogi State sets the pace or a transformational change of narratives.
Else, we keep rotating a never ending circle of hopelessness and misfortunes because of our gullible and myopic sentiments.
