Kogi Poll: Clergyman Calls For Revolutionary Votes Against Bello

The Chairman, Congress of Northern Christians, Reverend Charles Aina has charged Kogi elders, opinion leaders and well meaning electorate to as matter of necessity vote out the ruling APC government in the forthcoming governorship election to save the state from total collapse.

Aina gave the advise, on Tuesday, in a chat with newsmen in Lokoja.
He noted that Kogi state under Bello has been a curse, adding that the people have been impoverished by obnoxious policies and non payment of salaries and pensions.

He lamented that the government that came on board by accident as a result of the death of Prince Abubakar Audu who was in the cusp of  winning the election could inflict pains and agony on the hapless citizenry of the state.

He added that on inception, the people embraced the government with the hope that the younger generation will be able to provide people oriented programme noting that their policies have suffocated the people to the level that suicides have become a recurring decimal.

Aina explained that Bello, instead of running a government that will meet the yearnings of the citizenry that he will be a beacon for the youths, chose  to make caricatures of the youths.
He decried the inability of the governor to pay salaries and pensions for upward of seven to thirty eight months despite receipt of Paris Club refund, bail out and humongous monthly allocation from the federation account, stressing that the people got hunger and deprivation as a reward.

“We have never had it so bad. Civil servants are being owed between 7- 38 months. The civil servants are languishing, many cannot discharge their responsibility to their families.

The health sector is in shambles. Over 100 medical doctors have resigned their appointment. Professors and PhD holders have been sacked from the state own university at Anyigba for demanding for better welfare.

“I am challenging our compatriots to be at least revolutionary to oust Bello in the coming election. They may have used violence and snatching of ballot boxes to win the state Assembly election. However, they were the only party that unleash violence. I am assuring them that other parties are ready to take the battle to their door steps,” he said.
