Religious Crisis: Okene Administrator Debunks Allegation of Unjust Arrest of Sunni Brothers
The Administrator of Okene local government, Hon. Abdulrazaq Muhammad has denied the allegations that he is arresting Muslim Sunni brothers in Okene local government.
Muhammad, a shite member was accused recently of leading a Cold War between the Muslim shite and Sunni brothers in Okene LG, where he was accused of using his position as the Administrator of the largest local government in Ebiraland to oppress the Sunni brothers for what the accused described as the age-long conflict between shite and Sunni brothers.
In a press release by the media aide of the Administrator, Abdulmumin Abubakar denied the allegations saying, the perpetrators of the allegation will be called to account for the allegation.
The press release reads:
The attention of the Administrator of Okene Local Government, Engr. (Mall) Abdulrazaq Muhammad has been drawn to a malicious and inciting post by a faceless group known as “Concerned Muslim Group” Kogi Central alleging that there exist a Cold War between Shiite and Sunis Muslim Community orchestrated by the Administrator reason best known to the writer and their sponsors.
However, credible intelligence indicated that, the said group operate under the leadership of Sheikh Lukman Abdullahi.
2. We wish to state emphatically that since he assumed office as the Administrator and Chief Security Officer of Okene Local Government, the Administration of Engr. (Mall) Abdulrazaq Muhammad made security of lives and property a top priority and have entrenched peace in Okene Local government and it's environs of which the general public attest to his peaceful way of life and conducts. Therefore, only the writer and sponsors of the publication can explain the real reasons behind the hate speech.
3. Yes, Hon. Abdulrazaq Muhammad is a Shiite member even long before he became the Administrator of Okene Local Government, but if on the basis of this they, the group want to attack him for their selfish interest or an attempt to give him a bad name by orchestrating religious crisis in Ebiraland in order to achieve their own selfish desires, they should be rest assured that the alibi have failed shamefully. The government is working tirelessly to sustain the peaceful atmosphere in Okene Local Government, hence, any attempt by persons or groups under any guise to breach the relative peace would be resisted with our collective will.
4. As a peace loving citizen or religious group, the government would have expected that the organisation would have approached the court of law to seek redress if at all fundamental rights of any of their member(s) are abused by security agencies instead of resorting to inciting statements and hate publications against the admimistrator in the media. The writers and their sponsors are well known persons and will soon be called upon to substantiate their claims.
Finally, the general public are advised to go about their normal lawful businesses without fear as the allegation is nothing but a complete falsehood, unsubstantiated and lack any iota of truth.
