2019: SDP Would Field Candidate For Kogi Governorship – Alhaji Muktar Atima, SDP Chairman

The Social Democratic Party in Kogi State says it would present a credible candidate that would rescue the state from bad governance the state is currently witnessing.



Alhaji Muktar Atima, State Chairman of SDP gave the hint in a chat with the Nigerian Post Newspaper ahead of a stakeholders meeting of the party slated for next week, says the SDP would be on the ballot in the Kogi Governorship election in November.

According to Alhaji Atima, the wide acceptance enjoyed by the party in the just concluded elections held in the state has positioned the party for victory in the coming governorship election that would hold in November.

The SDP Chairman blamed the Independent National Electoral Commission, working with the APC to militarized the last elections, and outrightly rig the Kogi polls, as the strategy employed to short change the party from been announced as winners, but assured that the party is working to ensure that the peoples vote in the November election count that would see a change in baton to the SDP.

The Chairman observed that the party made a superlative performance in the Presidential, National Assembly elections, pointed out that if not for the infractions, SDP emerged as the third force, the people of the state voted for.

The Chairman assured that the party has a line up of credible and acceptable candidates for the governorship election, but predicted a landslide victory for SDP in the governorship election.

Regular payment of salaries to workers, improvement of infrastructure and human capital development would be the priority of the SDP if elected, thanked the people of Kogi state for their abiding faith in the party as shown in the last elections.

The Chairman used the opportunity to declare Lugard House, the Kogi seat of government as vacant, and waiting to be occupied by the SDP in 2020.

The Chairman pointed out that Kogi people having tested the APC and the PDP over the years in governance of the state, have made up their mind to go with the SDP, said never again would the people be deceived into slavery and suffering by voting in political party’s that have no human face, programs and policies like the SDP.
