Civil Defence Arrest, Parades Robbery Suspects In Kogi

The Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Kogi State command has paraded three armed robbery suspects who were arrested at various locations in the state.



One of the suspects paraded, Richard Abdullahi was arrested while robbing his victim.

The other, Osai Ismaila, a private guard with Bulletin Construction Company, Crusher Village was nabbed while vandalizing the company’s cable for sell; while the other, Abel Agada was rearrested two weeks after escaping from the Civil Defence custody.

Speaking while parading the suspects on Tuesday, the State Commandant, Ayodele Philips said Richards was caught in Anyigba while robbing his victims with a locally made guns.

“On March 27, 2019 one Richard John Abdullahi who hailed from Dekina LGA and reside behind Agodo House, Abuja Area in Anyigba attempted robbing one Mr. And Mrs Adewumi Jacob at gun point in her house along Mountain of Fire Church. The suspect was later over powered by the victim and her daughter who summoned courage and screamed for help from the neighborhood. He was arrested by the men of NSCDC who were on routine patrol,” he said.

The suspect while being interviewed confessed to the crime but said he only used the gun which he found on a street in Lagos to scare the victim but not to harm them.

However, Abel Agada, 21 who was rearrested two weeks after escaping from the Civil defence custody said he took his chance to escape when  one of the leg cuffs around his leg got loosed, and he was alone where he was kept at their custody.

He however said luck ran out of him again when he was rearrested by men of the corps in Onicha -Igu in Ofu local government area two weeks later when occupants of a house he had gone to steal their jerry cans of red oil raised alarm.

Osai Ismaila on his own said it was the devil that pushed him to vandalized the cable of his company, Bulletin Construction Company, in Crusher village of Lokoja, where he was working as a private guard.
