Eid-el-Fitri: Gov. Bello Boycotts Felele Eid Prayer Ground For Security Reasons

Security reports may have prompted Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State to change his plan of observing this year Eid-el Fitri prayer at Felele eid prayer ground where former governors, the Maigeri of Lokoja and other top personalities traditionally observed their prayers during eid-el Fitri, Kogi Report learnt.

The governor however worshiped at the Old Stadium prayer ground in the heart of the State capital the action which the National Update gathered may not be unconnected with security reports of any possible civil disobedience.

It was gathered that some elements were bent on
fomenting trouble at the prayer ground hence the Governor in his disposition towards ensuring peace reigned in the State decided to heed security advice by opting to pray at the Stadium prayer ground.

The National Update checks revealed that the speaker of the State House of Assembly Rt Hon Imam Umar and several other appointees who had gone ahead of the Governor to the Felele Prayer ground had to make a detour when they were informed of the development.

They had to rush back to the stadium prayer ground in the heart of Lokoja which accounted for their lateness as the Speaker had to observe his prayer along the road to the stadium because of the crowd.

The Stadium prayer ground which was heavily manned by security had a drone hovering over the faithful for complimentary security checks.
