OPINION: 2019 is a Defining Moment For Kogi Central Senatorial District | By Isah Bala

With the unveiling in our polity, we will have to resound the avowal of
Abraham Lincoln of the blessed memory who posits that, "nearly all men can stand adversity, but if you want to test a man's character, give him power."

Those around the corridors of power don't want to leave, and they want their interest to always be protected and as such they go far and wide to shop for stooges they will feed in position of authority that will always do their bidding.

The masses whose rights have been severely raped need to know that the self-aggrandising leaders are not after their interest, they need to know that the problem of the leaders is how to get their stooges in position of authority to be their puppet and protect their interest at all fronts.

The victimised masses beaten drum and dancing shameflessly to lure others into supporting the will of the leaders will have to be continually advised or exorcised for them to know that their action is tantamount to celebrating the killer of one's peace and encouraging him to unleash more terror.

We must learn to stand for truth, we must learn to stand for our own liberation, the crumbs we take from our oppressors can never translate into quality representation we've been longing for.

2019 is a defining moment; it's either we trade our votes for five thousand naira at the polling booth and groan for another four years or we stand with Barrister Natasha Hadiza Akpoti who has proven beyond any reasonable doubt that she is capable of ending the age-long flames of withering misrepresentation as our Senator and consolidate on our fights she has solely championed in the last three years.

The choice is surely ours and I am damn sure we are tired of the usual rhetoric of those who have  mercilessly raped our rights and enrich themselves at our own expense and that of our children.
