Adavi LG partners with Benjamin Franklin Eye Foundation on Free Eye treatment Programme

Benjamin Franklin eye foundation in collaboration with the Adavi  Local Governement conducted  a free eye treatment for the people of Adavi with various eye defects Confluence Reporters learnt.



Over 250 persons were in the list to attend to as the time of filling this report. The exercise took place at kuroko in Adavi  LG Area, Kogi State.

The programme that would benefits the entire people of Adavi with eye challenges was flagged off at kuroko ward, and immediately commenced treatment to people with eye defects, offering of free eye glass depending on their conditions. The Administrator of the Council was represented by his Chief of staff, Hon. Muhammed O. Musa,  accompanied with other political office holders, the party chairman, Hon. Barnabas Oyibo,  HOD health, Mr. Yusuf Ojapa and other delegation to the venue of the event.

The Chief of staff declared the spectacular event opened and convey a goodwill message of the administrator to the eye patient, extolling the council boss as a leader with passion that take the welfare of his people a priority as evident in the ongoing free eye service anchored by him.

He assured them of his boss readiness in bringing more social services to palliate their suffering. He reitalated that the free treatment was based on Adavi Administrator effort to curtail  preventable blindness as well as succour to the less privileged .

Hon. Musa therefore, urged the vulnerable patient to go and get their PVC in order to vote in his Excellencies, PMB/GYB comes 2019.

The special adviser on political matter, Hon. Nasiru Ekunu commended the council boss, for his exemplary leadership style, he outlined some of his achievements within his short period in office.

In response, the ward head of kuroko ward, Alh. Isyaka Omonowo expressed their happiness on this special recognition through this free eye treatments that commenced right from their ward. He gave a remarks on behalf of the good people of kuroko, assuring the council boss their unflinching support to give bulk vote to PMB/GYB in this forthcoming general election comes 2019.

Mall. Maliki, a beneficiary  of the programme from kuroko in Adavi LG Area disclosed that, he has been suffering from  eye problem for years, adding that he didn't  pay for the treatment and every process he undergone for the.  He prayed to almighty  Allah to protect and guide his excellency  and the Administrator  for helping  him regain his clear sight.

The Coordinator of the  NGO Mr Franklin, said the foundation is an eye health care not for profit organization.  He added further  that,they are committed to the prevention of avoidable blindness amongst the less  privilege.
