2019: Adavi LG Administrator embarks on PVC sensitization tour in Zariagi-Kabba junction

In a continuous efforts to educate the people on the need to register for election, the Administrator of Adavi Local Government Area of Kogi State, Hon Joseph Omuya Salami on Friday led some of his cabinet members on sensitization programme in Zariagi-Kabba junction.


The move aimed at ensuring no eligible voter is disenfranchised from exercising his/her civil right in the forthcoming general election took the council boss  a reasonable time to sensitize and encourage the eligible voters on the need to go out en-mass to participate in the ongoing registration exercise, saying it is the only means they that will enable them to vote for President Muhammadu Buhari and Governor Yahaya Adoza Bello of Kogi State in 2019.

Those In attendance were, the acting party chairman, Hon. Barnabas Oyibo, the SA on political, Hon. Nasiru Ekunu and a host of others.

In his speech, Hon.Nasiru Ekunu, described the council boss as political architect who God brought at the right time to reawake the party's activities in Adavi Local Government adding that his achievements so far within the short period he assumed office have shown his readiness to work for the party.

Reacting, the Youth Chairman of Zariagi-Kabba Junction Ibrahim Jibril Adavize,
who received the August visitors, welcomed and appreciated the Hon. Administrator and his delegations for the kind gesture. He congratulated the council boss for his well deserved appointment and prayed, God should grant him fruitful stay in office.

He noted that the action of the Administrator will continue to linger in their memory as no any elected chairman or Administrator has ever visited their community not to talk of extending this hands of fellowship to them.

According to him, the opportunity afforded them to intimate the Council boss some of the lingering problems facing the community which he mentioned as; unjustly encroachment in their cemetery, non availability of heath facilities ( like cottage hospital or community health centre), and inadequate portable drinking water.

He added that the transformer they are still using till date which is not sufficient were bought through community efforts, explaining that the numerical strength of the communities have called for creation of more voting points in the area.

Responding, the council boss thanked the host communities to have patiently waited for him in the sensitization mission despite their tight scheduled.

He expressed his immeasurable appreciation to the governor of the State, Alh. Yahaya Adoza Bello for the honour bestowed on him to shoulder the enormous task of counsil, pledging to reciprocate the laudable gesture which he said is the reason he embarked on the sensitisation tour.

He told the mammoth crowds that he will provide the pressing needs of the community as tabled before him, reiterating that it is germane to note that whatever is going to do for the community was neither targeted to delimitate the inhabitants nor accord preferential treatment to any local government, but to provide essential social services which is one of the primary functions of a good governance.

He pledged to provide the transformer as well as lead a team to the cemetery to see how some coast of blocks would be layed to avoid any further encroachment.

emphasing the importance of peace to community development, the council boss, charged the people to live in unity and peace with one another as no meaningful development would be achieved in an atmosphere of rancour.

He implored the Fulani/Hausa community to feel at home, enjoined them to be a brothers keeper as Ebira people are peace loving, humble and hospitable, advicing them to register and get their PVC as that is the only instruments to vote in PMB/GYB comes 2019.
