BREAKING: FG warns Govs using thugs to disrupt oppositions’ campaigns
The Federal Government has warned Governors using thugs and other elements to prevent the opposition from holding political campaigns in their States to desist, saying security agencies have been deployed to end this intolerance.
The National Security Adviser (NSA), Major General Babagana Monguno (retd), gave the warning during the weekly Ministerial Briefing, organised by the Presidential Communication Team at the Villa, Abuja.
According to The Nation, the NSA, who reeled out the programme and achievements of President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration in the security sector, was reacting to a question about a pattern gaining grounds in States, in which Governors introduce actions that target campaign structures of opposition politicians within their domains.
