Meet Former IGP, Alhaji Aliyu Atta Who Is The Son Of Late Ohinoyi of Ebiraland
Alhaji Aliyu Atta is the son of late Ohinoyi of Ebiraland formerly known as Atta of Ebiraland, HRH Alhaji Ibrahim Onoruoiza Atta who ruled Ebiraland between 1917 to 1954.
Born on May 12, 1937, Alhaji Aliyu Atta grew up in the palace of HRH Ibrahim Onoruoiza Atta in Okene. Alhaji Aliyu Atta is sixth child of the late paramount ruler of Ebiraland.
At the early days of his life, he attended Okene Qura'anic School before his father took him to his friend, late Emir of Katsina, HRH Muhammadu Dikko, where he subsequently continued his education.
In 1960, Alhaji Aliyu Atta joined the Nigeria Police. He spent just one year in service and was promoted to the rank of ASP in 1962. He was then posted Yola where he worked for six months. He later went to Wakefield, London, where he did promotional course.
After several achievements and promotions, Alhaji Aliyu Atta became the Inspector General of Police n 1985 and was in office until 1986.
