How OKehi Administrator Was Arrested Along Abuja-Lokoja Road, Releases In Force Headquarter
Information has emerged about how the Administrator of Okehi local government, Abdulraheem Ohiare was arrested by Nigeria Police along Abuja-Lokoja road and released on getting to Force Headquarters by the influence of Kogi State governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello.
Ohiare who was indicted of sponsoring thuggery and leading to political violence and witch-hunting political opponents that led to the death and destruction of properties worth millions of naira in Okehi local government area of Kogi State was arrested in Gwagwalada area of Abuja on his way to Lokoja, the state capital after attending a function.
A source at the force headquarters authoritatively relayed to our reporter that, after arresting the Administrator, the governor mounted pressure on the officers to release him, adding that the police officers insisted that they were not acting on their own and will only release him after getting an order from the Inspector General of Police.
According to the source, Ohiare was released at the Force Headquarters after Govenor Yahaya Bello spoke with the police boss.
The source maintained that he doesn't know the reason that called for his urgent release after the Administrator was placed on the police watch list and three failed arrest attempts pursuant to a Warrant issued by a magistrate court in Abuja in March.
