#KogiDecides: Natasha Akpoti's Triumphant Entry Into Kogi Central Sends Panic

The triumphant entry of the governorship candidate of Social Democratic party, Barr Natasha Akpoti, on Thursdays, in Kogi Central has sent panic to other contenders in the race to Lugard House.

Akpoti whose campaign train hit her senatorial district on the last day of campaign was greeted by thousands of Ebiras who is said to have changed the narrative being promoted by APC that the people of Ebiraland have resolved to vote for the reelection of governor Yahaya Bello.
Natasha and her running mate, Engr. Adams Khalid, alongside other party faithfuls were received by thousands of the people of Ebiraland.

The SDP governorship candidates started the campaign in Kogi Central with the payment of homage to Ohinoyi of Ebiraland, HRH Dr. Ado Ibrahim where they recieved the royal blessing of the King of Ebiraland.

Speaking, Natasha Akpoti said, she was at the palace of Ohinoyi of Ebiraland under the platform of the Social Democratic Party with her running mate and party faithfuls to introduce themselves to the king and seek for votes of the people in the Saturday's governorship election.

Speaking on her Ajaokuta advocacy, Akpoti said she faught relentlessly for the resuscitation of Ajaokuta despite different oppositions and called for government to government agreement to revive the steel industry which she said materialised into the recent agreement between Nigeria and Russia to complete Ajaokuta with 1.45bn dollar.

"Everything that happens in life start with an idea, and that idea has to be materialised by people who believe in it and proud of where they are without the fear of those who might not understand that idea at that time because sometimes when God gives you a vision you need people who understand the vision and ready to bring that into action.

"If authority is what is needed to make the right thing then let me go for it and see what we can do with authority in the right hand, the right mind and the right team", she said.

Akpoti explained that the people are poor, "because there is a disconnection from the point where money is being generated to the point where it is utilised for our development

"This is why i want to go in there and intercede on behalf of our people so i can speak and fight for our people even as a governor for the host state and the host community.

"And we know you are going to give us your blessing because you know me when i was a little girl and somehow know what I am going to become and you have guided me to this point I am today. Your wise words is never enough because I am a product of your wise words", she said.

The SDP governorship candidate added that, "I know my party SDP is not the most popular in Nigeria today, I also know that every party that has become popular in Nigeria was made popular by one person and his team so who says the future might no be SDP, who says the future might be female?", she said.

Speaking, the Ohinoyi described Natasha as a woman who is  determined to make a positive impact in the society.

"Her mother didn't tell her to join politics neither did I, she joined politics because she is determined to make a positive impact, her determination brought her to where she is today.

“Women all over the world have conquered tremendous feats for the good of their countries. France had Joan of Arc who saved her country.

"England had Margaret Thatcher who repositioned the economy .
Who says Nigeria can’t have Natasha ?", the King said.

The Ohinoyi of Ebirland maintained that, "There are many people that know you, you only know few of them. Today, here you are , millions of people follow you whether because of your courage of determination only God knows or because of your belief that God send you for a mission and you must have carried out that mission, all I can say is may God guide you and protect you, when you finish everything come back to this house, lead this young people very well, brights tomorrow for them.

"At the end of the day, don't frown at anybody, don't frown at whatever success you have, don't frown at whatever condition you meet, I wish you the best of luck", the royal father.

Natasha and Khalid campaign train was then greeted by mammoth crowd that trek from Okene local government to the venue of the rally in Ihima, Okehi local government where thousands of supporters received the SDP candidates and reiterated their readiness to be part of history makers that will produce the first female elected governor in Nigeria.
