Kogi SDP Chair Debunks Defection Rumour, Describes It As Figment of APC's Imagination

The chairman, Kogi State chapter of Social Democratic Party (SDP), Alhaji Mouktar Atimah has described the rumour making the round that he will dump his party for the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) on Monday as a figment of the Kogi chapter of APC.

Addressing newsmen in Lokoja, Atimah said he remains the chairman of SDP in Kogi State  and has no reason of dumping his party for APC.

He said, "the rumour is one of the many lies of APC, it is a joke of the century for anybody to think I will dump my party for APC that plagued the state into the deep mess we are currently.

"It is a strategy to distract us from the task at hand but we are more committed in saving the people of Kogi state from the misery caused by APC led administration in the state", he said.

Atimah urged SDP supporters and members of the public to disregard the rumour in its entirety, adding that he will be the last person to think of leaving SDP for APC.
