Natasha Pays Condolence Visit to Yusuf's Family, Gives Scholarship to Children
The Senatorial Candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) for Kogi Central senatorial district, Barr. Natasha Hadiza Akpoti on Sunday paid condolence visit to the family of late Mr. Yusuf Adabenege who was killed on 16th November by unknown gunmen in Okene LGA.
Describing Yusuf's passage as a great loss to the people of Ebiraland, Akpoti recalled that late Yusuf was a man of fairness who preached and stood for
justice.
Barrr. Natasha spoke when she led her team delegation on a condolence visit to the Yusuf's family in their Obehira residence in Okene LGA, Kogi State.
Akpoti said, "Late Mr. Yusuf was a good man, when some of our brothers were destroying my banners, he sued for peace and protected it, he stood for fairness and justice.
"Though I didn't have the opportunity to meet him one on one, but am happy he lived a life of fairness and justice", she said.
Addressing the mother of late Yusuf, Natasha said, "at this point of grief, everybody comes to visit the family and leave, but I am promising you that I will be of great help to you, take me as your daughter and I shall be there to attend to your needs.
"When we lost our father in 1998, It was very difficult for us to go to school but our efforts to defy all odds have contributed to where we are today, for this, I will be taking charge of the children's school fees, this is not about politics, it is about humanity", she said.
Responding, the late Yusuf's mother, Hajia Shefiat Adabenega thanked Natasha for the visit, said the sad incidence is a great loss to the family.
"I see you as my daughter since the day your people came here to condole with me on the death of my son. Because of your kind heart and your love for Ebiraland, I will always pray for you for God to empower you to do more", she said.
While appreciating Natasha and her team for the visit, Yusuf's younger bother, Mr. Adams Adabenega pointed out that the death of his brother came as a great shock, adding that though as a human being everybody will die, explaining that the family didn't prepare for the sudden death but they have accepted the death of their brother as the will of God. Prayers were later offered for the deceased and for the entire family.
Natasha, however, seized the opportunity to extend the condolence visit to the family of late Chief Muhammed Anaje who was the Central District Head of Okengwe before his death.
