My Second Open Letter to President Buhari –Specifically on Minister Fayemi | Dr. Joseph Ozigi Akomodi

Dear Mr. President,

I docked my head in shame the recent outburst of Minister Fayemi when he categorically stated that Nigerian Government will not spend a Naira anymore on Ajaokuta Steel Project. I could not believe the educated fools we have in the Government. I am urging the President, the immediate removal of Minister Fayemi from the Office he occupies. Minister Fayemi has betrayed Nigerians and the office he occupies as a result; a motion must be moved in both houses for his removal from office.
Dr. Joseph Ozigi Akomodi

For all the atrocities Fayemi has created in Nigeria with his dubiousness Nigerians both in Diasporas and those that live inside Nigeria will give a vote of no confidence in his leadership. He must immediately be removed from office. Who is Fayemi to hold Nigerians for ransom? He has abused his power as a Minister of steel. Fayemi is prepared to mortgage Nigeria completely to India.

Adoke, the son of the soil is on the run now, for not representing the interest of Nigerians at heart and Fayemi will be on the run soon. It is absolutely shameful that any Minister will speak so woefully about the backbone of industrialization of any Nation.  Yes, Fayemi Nigeria has spent 8 billion dollars since the inception of Ajaokuta we have something to show the technology that the Russian put up is still standing despite the fact that your dubious company in India stripped Ajaokuta naked. Yes, we have something to show because the Russian has completed Ajaokuta up to 98 percent before their departure because of lack of political will of our leaders. Yes, Fayemi we have something to show because the technology in Ajaokuta is still one of the best technologies in the steel production in the world today. The Russians built steel plant in China and that of India which started the same time with Ajaokuta.

Fayemi, we need to call the Russians back because in the entire world they have the best steel experts. Minister Fayemi I am a trained Metallurgist from the former Soviet Union and residing in the United State for almost three decades because Nigerian politicians lacked the political will to allow Ajaokuta to suffice.

Mr. President, I hold you in a very high esteem but you have allowed the criminals into your Government to cripple Nigeria and you must purge them out. Mr. President, it is your duty not to allow anyone to destroy your reputation, if any of your Ministers are not working well, purge them out, you have so many Nigerians in diaspora even in Nigeria who will like to contribute their knowledge for free to move Nigeria forward.  I will first volunteer myself for free and many others will follow.

Mr. President you must not allow all the gullible politicians in Nigeria to redefine you as a boneless leader. You must emerge as a leader I cherished back in the 70s when you pilot the state affairs of North Eastern State. I was then in Bauchi.

Mr. President, Minister Fayemi is fuming because Barrister Natasha Akpoti whose late father was a great friend of mine, one of the finest Barrister in Nigeria, who schooled in Nigeria and Scotland combine who by the virtue of his father’s selfless services to humanity and his daughter Natasha Akpoti took after the exemplary work the father did not live to complete and he died for his selfless services to humanity. He did not live up to 50 years old before he parted from this sinful world; precisely he died at the age of 49.

Apple do not fall far from a tree what you see in Natasha Akpoti is the continuation of her father’s generosity to anyone who came in contact with her father as a Medical Doctor, treating patients for free in his own hospital when you could not afford the bill even given free medications for those who could not purchase meds. That is what we call humanitarians and selfless services.

I knew Natasha when she was just a toddler when her father came back to Nigeria after his studies in Ukraine as Medical Doctor. I knew then that this little girl will grow up to be just like her father.

Mr. President, If those you have appointed are not capable of handling their responsibilities for the interest of Nigeria you must fire them and replace them with Nigerians who are more than willing to move Nigerian forward.  People like Minister Fayemi are nothing but political liability so gets rid of them.
Ajaokuta as a Mega complex Industry, the largest industry in the continent of Africa, which would have been responsible in creating jobs for all Nigerian youths, Not only that, Nigeria will have been able to build their cars, planes, bridges, roads high rising buildings machine of various types etc and exporting such products to all African Countries and even advance countries we failed to realized what that means.

Are we not tired that all the time our crude materials are been exported out of Nigeria only to be sold back to us at an exorbitant price that ordinary citizens cannot afford? We called ourselves the giant of Africa and we have nothing to show how giant we are.

Mr. President, Fayemi indicated that Nigeria has spent 8 billion dollars and we have nothing to show. I will urge you to take a trip to Ajaokuta yourself to see the massive work that has been done in steel plant by the Russians. Ajaokuta was supposed to consist of the Blast furnace, Oxygen Converter, Electric arch steel making, Foundry Steel Technology, Rolling mills, billet mills and also aluminum mills. I have been to almost every steel plant in the former Soviet Union. There is no one steel plant in the Soviet Union that even has the concentration of the different ways of making steel in one plant as we have in Ajaokuta. The Russians themselves knew that if Ajaokuta survived Africans will liberate themselves from mental slavery. We are still slaves of the western world because we have no political will to do what is just for the interest of the entire Nation.

I gnashed my teeth anytime I read that Nigeria dubious politicians’ claims that the technology used in Ajaokuta is obsolete, I felt like punching them in their faces. At least as a steel expert trained in Russian I have seen what they have and that of Nigeria. I know for fact it is because the Russians will not agree for any shady deals for kickbacks that is why the politicians continued to do jamborees with Ajaokuta.

Mr. President, Suffice it says that, if you are interested in moving Nigeria to where it should be in the world stage, we have many Nigerians who are Directors in the Western world in the Steelmaking I will personally persuade them to give their technical know-how for free for Nigeria steel Industry to get into the world stage.

First, call the Russians to complete Ajaokuta with immediate effect. Nigeria cannot tell me that they do not have money to pay the remaining 2% to have Ajaokuta running nonstop.  We have Ministers stealing more money from Nigeria more than Nigeria ever budgeted for Ajaokuta Steel. Demand from the western world all the money that was stolen from Nigeria to be returned for the completion of the steel plant.

All the looted money recovered should go into the project. Slice the salaries of House of Representatives and the Senators. Reduced the Burgos allowances of your Ministers and Federal Ministries Directors, and then we will have more than enough to complete Ajaokuta for all Nigerians. I quote Donald Trump whom I do not support, “I will revamp the Steel Industries in the United States because no Nation can stand as Nation without Steel.” Looking at this single statement from President Trump that has the lowest rating in the United States you ponder, if he gets it, why not Nigerian Leaders?

In conclusion, Mr. President you must get rid of all the cabinet members that have turned themselves as liability for your leadership and get people with knowledge and willingness to move Nigeria forward. First and foremost you must immediately ask Fayemi to resign honorably. You must entrust the steel project in Nigeria on those who have the expertise and the technical know-how about steel production. You must immediately re-engage the Russians in the completion of the steel plant in Nigeria. We must ask the Russian to revamp River Niger and River Benue to create electricity for the plants because when a blast furnace is ignited it must not stop working. It runs 24 hours nonstop. You must pay a visit to Ajaokuta do not send any of your Cabinet members to Ajaokuta.

I guarantee you when you get back to Abuja, you will have a change of mind. See it first for yourself. Thank you for your service to Nigeria as a former Head of States and President of Nigeria. You must not let the ordinary masses down. Focus, effort, and determination will set Nigeria on the world stage for industrialization.
