IWA, ISU meet with Ihima Traditional Council, suggest wayforward on Ihima Problems


In a move to find lasting solution to many problems bedevilling the people of Ihima, Ihima Welfare Association (IWA), and Ihima Students' Union (ISU), held a round table discussion with  Ihima Traditional Council to rub minds together on the solution to problems that have been impeding the progress of Ihima.
                         


Top of the agenda were the need to bring back Ihima High Court, renovation and functioning of Ihima police Station that was put to the torch  recently,  Ihima bank, and the need to strengthen security outfit of the society.

Reacting to the issue, the national president of the association Comrade Joseph Anivasa said measures have already been put in place to meet with the governor of the State Alhaji Yahaya Bello to table some of the Ihima demands to him, promising that in no distance time Ihima will be great again.

Commenting on the complaint of the body that political representatives from Ihima refuse to honour the call of the association whenever they are called upon, Elder Jegede said political representatives from Ihima can never be more than the people they are representing adding that  adequate measures should be put in place to make them honour the people they are representing whenever they are being called.

The president of Ihima Students' Union of ISU,  Comrade Isah Amoto Bala while speaking on the degrading system of education in the society said, ISU has been trying to bring back the lost glory through organising of different educational programmes, and scholarship programmes. He decried the level at which people refused to support the union, adding that the union has tried to start the construction of Ihima library but the empty promises of political representatives from Ihima and lack of interest on educational sector from the people of Ihima hindered the project.

He thereafter intimated the association on the progress made thus far to secure formal approval for the land allocated for Ihima library and presented the magazine recently launched by ISU to the executives of IWA and Ihima Traditional Council.

Commenting on the efforts of the leadership of ISU, the National President of IWA said, he's moved by the untiring efforts of the leadership of ISU especially in a time like this where social vices has taken over the reasoning of youths.

He however promised to promote the union's magazine by enforcing all the clans in Ihima to  launch it, promising to take over the pursuit of the union to secure formal approval for the land allocated for Ihima library.

The representatives of each clan in Ihima however promised to always support the efforts of IWA in creating an ideal society, adding that it's the responsibility of the leadership of each clan to ensure effective policing of Ihima and put the old ways of doing things that have culminated into our present problems to rest.
