Life can be viewed as the state that follows birth and precedes death, or the state of being alive and living (http://wikitionary.com), but our ability to consciously respond to our divine calls makes “life” a point of attraction. Equally, a synonymous assertion from the wisdom bank of Mohandas Gandhi comes this quote, “my life is my message;” and today being 20th December, 2017 reflects the take-off point of a unique soul who has been consistently writing his name in the history book of life in the last couple of decades.
Distinguished Khalifa Abdulrahaman Okene (Adinoyi) was born into the family of Late Mall. Zubairu Uhuami and Hajia Bilikisu Ibrahim from Adavi Local Government Area of Kogi State, Nigeria. Not only that he is married to Hajiya Amina Atimpo, a woman many fondly refer to as “a woman of substance” owing to her credence in life building, but also blessed with disciplined and well cultured children.
Khalifa in his teenage age was not spoon-fed with either silver or golden spoon, but gathered his momentum for greatness from one of his inspiring quotes, “the strongest people are not those who will always win, but those who do not give up when they lose.” At this sensitive point of his life, he was not deterred by the obstacles of life, rather his thoughts were strongly made on being responsive to the divine task as he ventured into small and medium enterprises in the early 90s as a young entrepreneur with Elcaaz Investment, an enterprise that encompasses hotels reservations, flight bookings, estate management and other contract executions.
After a successful period of progress, Elcaaz Investment was incorporated into ELCAAZ INVESTMENT NIG. LTD., a growth that paved way for the entity in securing direct contract from agencies like Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) etc. which later made him break-even. Abdulrahaman Okene who understands the benefits of diversification in the business circle again tapped into the huge potentials in the agricultural sector by also initiating ELCAAZ FARMS AND RESORT with the spotlight on poultry, fishery, cattle rearing etc. This substantive step launched the young mind into another realm of wealth, and today he is not just a proud owner of two investments, but one whose prowess in business management has at so many times been regarded by many as a product of the absolute principle of nature. In their words, he was naturally born with it.
Taking an extract from another phase of his life stems from two great ideologists, Leo Tolstoy and Dalai Lama who both made references to life as thus: “The sole meaning of life is to serve humanity.” –Leo; while Dalai complements the statement by stating that “love and compassion are necessities, not luxuries. Without them, humanity cannot survive.” Those who had crossed the path of Distinguished Khalifa Abdulrahaman Okene will obviously depict his personality as that of a philanthropist who thoroughly understands the principles of giving. In fact, his humanitarian commitments can be traced to his childhood which eventually prompted him to nurture KHALIF CARES FOUNDATION (KCF), a structural chain dedicated to humanity and an initiative that was wholly motivated by his passion to continuously champion a paradigm shift from the usual horizon of less-privileged to the building of a solid temple of RIGHT FOR ALL within and outside his domain through the success tools of Love, Peace and Unity.
And right from inception, Khalifa has personally and through his Foundation affected many lives positively across Nigeria. Few amongst such gestures are, Full Students Scholarship Programme (FSSP), which hundreds of students both home and abroad are benefiting from; Skill Acquisition Take-off Scheme, designed to train individuals to be self-dependent and also empower them with a start-up grant; Students Financial Assist (SFA), a scheme that takes care of general request from students, but restricted to only those in Nigeria; General Relieve Package (GRP), a programme that addresses various forms of needs from the populace. These and many more of his goodwill has earned him recognitions from both local and international organizations such as Global Youth Entrepreneurship (GYEF) – Indonesia; Remember Africa-United Kingdom, International Youth Art Exchange –USA; Nigeria Youth Achievers; National Association of Ebira Students (NAES) Federal Polytechnic Nasarawa Chapter; and to mention but a few.
Who is Khalifa Abdulrahaman Okene? Khalifa's exemplary trait has established his true nature as an epitome of humility, a man after God’s heart, an entrepreneur per excellence, a successful business personality, a proud farmer, the bridge between the wealthy and the less privileged, an ambassador of peace, preacher of love, a mobilizer of unity, a firm believer in a United Nigeria, and "Adinoyi" (Father of the Masses), as he is now called by his people.
