Hon. Ajana pledges ₦50,000 support to ISU
The Member representing Adavi/Okehi Federal Constituency in his usual penchant for education pledged fifty thousand naira to Ihima Students' Union on Saturday 16th December, 2017 at the annual event of the students' body tagged ISU Day.
The programme which featured the launching of the union's magazine was held at the premises of Central Primary School Obeiba Ihima.
Hon. Ajana who was represented at the occasion by his personal assistant, Hon. Umar Bashir said, "Ihima Students' Union has been doing great. The union has been very supportive in the annual summer lesson organised by Hon. Kabiru Ajana without being paid.
"Hon. Kabiru Ajana launch the magazine with the sum of fifty thousand naira. The money will be paid to the union's account on Monday", he said.
Ajana is known for his radical philanthropy in the areas of scholarship sponsorship, renovation of schools, donations and settling of medical bills, amongst others.
Ihima Students' Union established in 1959 has been championing the promotion of education in Ihima ranging from organizing of Spelling Bee for Primary Schools, Quiz and Debating Competitions for Secondary Schools, Career talk, Scholarship programme, and publication of annual magazine.
Speaking earlier, the president of the union, Comrade Isah Amoto Bala said, "the love of Hon. Kabiru Ajana for education knows no bounds, despite the fact that our invitation got to him at eleventh hour, he still make sure he is represented.
"The fifty thousand naira pledged by the man who knows the value of education and always want to contribute to its promotion when redeemed will be injected into our educational programmes that will benefit our students", the students' leader said.
