Council Polls: Okene APC Stakeholders Endorse Abdulrazaq As Party’s Candidate

Ahead of the December 12, 2020 local government elections in Kogi State, the stakeholders of All Progressive Congress (APC) in Okene on Sunday endorsed the candidature of the former council administrator and chief security officer, Engr. Abdulrazaq Muhammad as chairmanship candidate of the party for Okene local government. 


The stakeholders, in a unanimous decision, settled for Abdulrazaq based on his performance, loyalty and unity of the party. 

The meeting which was presided over by the Honourable Commissioner for Works and Housing, Engr. Abubakar Ohere was held at the residence of the Director-General of Government House administration, Alh. Shaibu Oricha in Lokoja. 

The stakeholders also resolved to zone the vice chairman slot to women and shall come from Obehira-uvete ward. Abuga/Ozuja, Onyukoko and Orietesu wards are to produce female councillors as part of efforts to compensate women in the party. 

The choice of candidate for councillors in each of the eleven wards of the council shall be taken by their respective stakeholders. The Chief of Staff to the Governor, Pharm.

 Abdulkareem Asuku, Accountant-General of the State, Alh. Jibril Momoh, Auditor-General of Local Government, Hon. Usman Ododo, Hon. Tijani Damisa, Hon. Ibrahim Ahovi, party executives and other party stalwarts attended the meeting.
