The Kogi  chapter of PDP through a statement signed by the party's Director, Research and Documentation, Mr Achadu Dickson disclosed that the party is taking the legal fight to reclaim what it described as "stolen mandate" from Governor Yahaya Bello to Supreme Court, urging its supporters to remain calm and be hopeful.

The party which described the judgment of the Appeal Court as unacceptable and travesty of justice said the Supreme Court will right the wrongs of the Appeal Court.

However, PDP and its governorship candidate in the election, Musa Wada, are relying on the use of the evidence of the forensic analysis which showed that there were massive rigging in seven local government including Yahaya Bello's own local government, Okene where Bello polled 112,764 votes as well as Lokoja local government and others.

Recalled that the Supreme Court was the one who earlier gave the approval for the use of the forensic analysis in the judgment of Kogi governorship election. Both Tribunal and Appeal Court, however, dismissed, the evidences of the forensic analysis as untenable saying it failed to prove how the alleged multiple thumb-printing affected the overall November 16, 2019 Kogi governorship election.

PDP and its candidate is confident that the Supreme Court will do justice to the case using the evidences of the forensic analysis which the apex court earlier approved for the ruling.

Speaking after the Appeal Court ruling, Musa Wada noted that Governor Yahaya Bello and APC can run, but they cannot hide from the Supreme Court adding that the irregularities that characterises the election will be pointed out by the apex Court.

Wada who scored 189,704 votes in the election to emerge second runner up, insisted that he was the authentic winner of the November 16, governorship election in Kogi State.

Governor Yahaya Bello of APC scored 406,222 votes in the election and defeated the PDP candidate with a wide margin of 216,518 votes.

However, PDP and its candidate noted that the evidences of the forensic analysis showed the multiple thumb-printing in the seven local government is more than the 216,518 margin which Yahaya Bello used to win the election, and insisted that the "stolen mandate" will be recovered at the Supreme Court.
