Nine people have been apprehended by the Bauchi State Police Command in connection with diverting and re-baging grains meant for distribution to the various IDPs camps in the State.

The State Police Public Relations Officer,  DSP Kamal Datti Abubakar, who confirmed the arrest, also disclosed that 50Kg of 600 bags of millet were equally recovered from the suspects, who are currently being interrogated to determine the levels of their involvement in the criminal act.

Kamal Abubakar assured that as soon as all investigations were completed, all those found culpable would be prosecuted according to the laws of the land, describing the act as nothing but sabotage.

Investigations  revealed that the grains were discovered in a store house somewhere in Tirwun village being re-bagged for sale to unsuspecting members of the public.
